August 18th Beau was officially discharged from the hospital!
(This picture is taken just before we left the hospital to come home. Beau is pretending to be sad. He ALWAYS is trying to make silly faces when he gets his picture taken. little stinker!)
I’ve had such a hard time making myself sit down and write this. I have so much I want to say, but it comes with so many emotions. And to be honest, I also struggle with wanting to open up and share with you and balance keeping our lives protected and private. Continue reading
I have spent my whole life celebrating Mother’s Day weekend camping at Sun Lake! Continue reading
I was inspired by all the pretty gold glittered wine glasses and glass ware on Pinterest. So I checked out some different tutorials and went for it.
The wine glasses I started out with had colored stems Continue reading
I gave my little book shelf a face lift by adding craft paper with polka dots of course!
This is what it looked like before.
I found two different papers I liked in my craft closet so I hung both to get an idea of what looked best. I thought I would like the white polka dots because the shelf is kind of dark and I thought it would lighten it up a bit. After hanging them side by side I decided the black polka dots actually brightened it up a bit.
I didn’t want to do anything permanent because I’m constantly wanting to change things around in my house. The paper I found at Target on clearance around Christmas time. These are the items I used for the project:
After taking all these pictures I decided to add some more books to the bottom shelf.
One of my kiddos already broke my 5 sad, sad!!! That’s why I don’t spend a lot of money on my things! Thankfully my 5 was about $3.00 I must run back to Ben Franklin to get another one. I might try glueing it first though!
*When styling a book shelf I usually check out Pinterest first. Even if you don’t have the same accessories you can get ideas on lay out and how they put things together.
* I usually start with my books and spread them around.
* Then I add layer with my accessories
* Take your time and leave it one way for a while to see if you like it.
It’s defiantly not perfect, but I loved how it turned out. My seams didn’t line up the way I wanted them to and the paper didn’t lay perfect, but its good enough for me. It gave my shelves the pop of fun I was looking for.
How do you style your shelves? Do you have any helpful hints I can use?
I normally don’t decorate for St. Patrick’s Day but this year I got inspired. I didn’t do a whole lot just some little touches here and there. So I thought I would share…
Here’s my front porch and one thing I have realized is how hard it is to take pictures. I have a fancy camera that I don’t know how to use. The sun is never in the right spot among many other issues. I think I need to take a class!
I put together a banner for our green dinner the other day so I added it to my wreath when we were all done with it.
The green polka dot is tissue paper, my porch is covered so I can get away with putting paper products outside for a little while. Oh and Kitty wanted to be in the photo shoot, she’s such a good model.
My mantel all dressed up! I found this “You are my Lucky Charm” print on Pinterest here and it’s free!
Ok… I admit once I got started decorating I was having too much fun and didn’t want to stop. I promise this is the last picture …
I’m hosting Bunco at my house this month, so I thought it would be fun to decorate a little for the holiday. Now that the decorating is done I need to clean. I don’t know about you, but when I start decorating I make a huge mess. Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day?
