Glittered Wine Glasses

I was inspired by all the pretty gold glittered wine glasses and glass ware on Pinterest.  So I checked out some different tutorials and went for it.

The wine glasses I started out with had colored stems so my first thought was to do one coat of glitter and have the color show through.  That didn’t quite work out for me after one coat I couldn’t see any color.

Supply list:

*Dishwasher safe Mod Podge

*Foam brush

*Extra fine glitter

*Wine glasses

I used dishwasher safe Mod Podge (I had never even heard of this before this project) and extra fine gold glitter.  I recommend two coats, I tried getting away with just one coat and I had some bare spots.  Don’t forget to finish off the project with a top coat of glue to seal your glitter.

This is a picture of just one coat of glitter so you can see what I mean about a few bare spots. It looks ok but it would make it look a lot more finished with two coats.  I was in a hurry to get my project done before I hosted Bunco and didn’t get the second coat on.

I made these wine charms out of paper and stickers years ago with the intention of throwing them away and they have actually survived.

My sister is my model isn’t her scarf cute?

I have not been brave enough to put them in my dishwasher, but I have hand washed them a few times and they still look as good as new.

Please let me know if you try this and how it turns out.

Love,
